On Pentecost Sunday, 2004, Bishop Ronald P. Fabbro, C.S.B. promulgated a Pastoral Plan for
the Diocese of London. In the months that followed, each parish, deanery and diocesan office

As living signs of Christ's presence, we will respond to the call to personal holiness given to all by committing ourselves to opportunities for ongoing conversion and spiritual renewal. |

a. Set up devotion to Sacred Heart on 1st Friday |

Called by Christ, we will evangelize through the clear proclamation of the Gospel and the constant teaching of the Catholic faith, assuring that such proclamation and teaching is linked to the life experience of the people. |

b. Offer courses from Little Rock on the Bible |

c. Encourage parishioners to follow RCIA in order to renew their Catholic faith and practice. |

d. Set up a series of meetings for parishioners to renew their faith by viewing a series of short videos on important aspects of their faith. |

e. Set up a team of at least two younger couples to prepare other couples for the baptism of their child. |

With our sights set on the mission of Jesus, we will minister with justice and compassion to the wounded, the searching, the entrapped, and those in material and spiritual need. |

a. Execute a parish-wide mail-out to up-date our parish information and to provide parishioners the opportunity to confirm their belonging to our parish. |

b.Set up a committee to establish a list of volunteers to help with mass at Sacred Heart Villa (Caressant Care). |

c. Name a coordinator to create a support group for those who have undergone loss (thru death, divorce etc). |

As the Body of Christ, formed by word and sacrament, we will make provision for meaningful liturgical celebrations in our parish communities to ensure full, conscious, and active participation by all. |

a. Educate our parish on the nature, purpose, principles of liturgy by publishing and commenting on the pamphlets published by the Canadian Bishops on this subject, namely, Music at Your Wedding, Cremation, Eulogies, Flag. |

b. Provide necessary training for ministers (readers, auxiliary ministers of Communion). |

c. Celebrate baptisms at Sunday mass twice a year if feasible, besides Easter. |

d. To have Communion under both species on Holy Thursday and the Easter Vigil and determine if this is practical at other times. |

d.Encourage full participation by all members of the congregation by inviting parishioners to move closer to the front when appropriate, by joining in the responses and singing, by practicing hymns and responses before Mass, by explaining the importance and necessity of participation. |

Inviting all to co-responsible ministry, we will encourage and support the ongoing formation of laity, religious, and ordained. |

a. Support individual parishioners at appropriate workshops provided by the Diocese when available, beginning with the workshop on stewardship in Chatham in Oct 04 |

b. Provide formation for parents of children receiving 1st Communion and 1st Confession. |

c. Provide adequate spiritual preparation for those who have been away from the the regular practice of their faith for some itme through individual meetings with the pastor, RCIA, pastoral visits and available literature. |

d. Provide Scripture and other courses for our parishioners on an on-going basis. |

Imitating Christ the servant-leader, we will employ and model governance practices at all levels that seek to: meet the needs of Godís people, support the Churchís mission, ensure appropriate participation in decision-making by the laity, religious and ordained, uphold Gospel stewardship, and promote accountability and transparency. |

a. Draw up a new parish constitution which will enunciate the mission/vision of our parishes, specify the regulations which will govern parish life and remind parishioners of what membership in our pariah entails (privileges and duties). |

b. Hold monthly meetings of the Advisory Board (Parish Pastoral Council) except May, July and Aug. |

c. To establsih a Finance Committee in each parish to meet four times annually to oversee the physical and financial good of the respective parishes. |

Encourage responsible membership in our parishes through the regular use of offertory envelopes, regular publication of financial reports on the parishes, regular publication of collection figures in the bulletin, publication of items of greater importance (Comprehensive Study, repairs, big bills such as insurance etc). |
