Pastoral Plan Objectives for
Blessed Sacrament (Chatham)

On Pentecost Sunday, 2004, Bishop Ronald P. Fabbro, C.S.B. promulgated a Pastoral Plan for the Diocese of London. In the months that followed, each parish, deanery and diocesan office developed concrete and specific five-year objectives. 1. As living signs of Christ's presence, we will respond to the call to personal holiness given to all by committing ourselves to opportunities for ongoing conversion and spiritual renewal.
1. To revitalize Parish Small Faith Groups
2. To initiate an occasional series of special presentations including missions, Theologians, musicians, etc.
2. Called by Christ, we will evangelize through the clear proclamation of the Gospel and the constant teaching of the Catholic faith, assuring that such proclamation and teaching is linked to the life experience of the people.
1. To continue to develop a strong teen programm
3. With our sights set on the mission of Jesus, we will minister with justice and compassion to the wounded, the searching, the entrapped, and those in material and spiritual need.
1. To select a worthy cause that increases parishioners' awareness of the plight of the poor and provides an opportunity to make a tangible contribution
2. To establish a Blessed Sacrament parish C.W.L. group
4. As the Body of Christ, formed by word and sacrament, we will make provision for meaningful liturgical celebrations in our parish communities to ensure full, conscious, and active participation by all.
1. To increase attendance at Sunday Mass with particular emphasis on taking steps to assist parishioners to overcome real or perceived barriers.
2. To initiate practices that improve upon the wecoming envirnment that currently exists before, during and after the celebration of Mass.
5. Inviting all to co-responsible ministry, we will encourage and support the ongoing formation of laity, religious, and ordained.
1. To provide a Volunteer Appreciation Night to recognize contribution of over 400 volunteers in our parish.
2. To establish a Liturgical Committee to review and make recommendations regarding all aspects of the liturgical celebration

Imitating Christ the servant-leader, we will employ and model governance practices at all levels that seek to: meet the needs of Godís people, support the Churchís mission, ensure appropriate participation in decision-making by the laity, religious and ordained, uphold Gospel stewardship, and promote accountability and transparency.
1. To ensure that all parishioners are kept apprised of decisions made at Parish Pastoral Council meetings.
2. To ensure that the Finance Committee makes parishioners aware of parish finances and major capital expenditures.
3. To develop a Blessed Sacrament Parish web-site.
