Pastoral Plan Objectives for
Annunciation (Stoney Point)

On Pentecost Sunday, 2004, Bishop Ronald P. Fabbro, C.S.B. promulgated a Pastoral Plan for the Diocese of London. In the months that followed, each parish, deanery and diocesan office developed concrete and specific five-year objectives. 1. As living signs of Christ's presence, we will respond to the call to personal holiness given to all by committing ourselves to opportunities for ongoing conversion and spiritual renewal.
1. To offer a bilingual (French-English) parish mission.
2. To research the Life Teen program.
2. Called by Christ, we will evangelize through the clear proclamation of the Gospel and the constant teaching of the Catholic faith, assuring that such proclamation and teaching is linked to the life experience of the people.
1. To involve parents & grandparents in sacramental preparation.
2. To bridge religious teaching through school, home and parish.
3. With our sights set on the mission of Jesus, we will minister with justice and compassion to the wounded, the searching, the entrapped, and those in material and spiritual need.
1. To support those who are suffering a loss.
2. To welcome new parishioners by forming a welcoming committee.
3. To petition the Federal law restricting access to hospitalized parishioners (patient lists) re: pastoral visits.
4. As the Body of Christ, formed by word and sacrament, we will make provision for meaningful liturgical celebrations in our parish communities to ensure full, conscious, and active participation by all.
1. To invite and train liturgical ministries every 2 years.
2. To provide appropriate liturgical music in both French and English.
3. To re-evluate the current Ushers Club mandate.
5. Inviting all to co-responsible ministry, we will encourage and support the ongoing formation of laity, religious, and ordained.
1. To invite seminarians to visit out parish for a weekend.
2. To enhance (expand) the current lending library.
6. Imitating Christ the servant-leader, we will employ and model governance practices at all levels that seek to: meet the needs of Godís people, support the Churchís mission, ensure appropriate participation in decision-making by the laity, religious and ordained, uphold Gospel stewardship, and promote accountability and transparency.
1. To survey the needs of the parish - starting with service groups.
2. To host an information fair, of the various organizations within the parish and the diocese.
3. To communicate with the parish through the minutes of the parish council and allow for parishioner participation at a general meeting.
