Pastoral Plan Objectives for
St. Theresa (Windsor)

On Pentecost Sunday, 2004, Bishop Ronald P. Fabbro, C.S.B. promulgated a Pastoral Plan for the Diocese of London. In the months that followed, each parish, deanery and diocesan office developed concrete and specific five-year objectives. 1. As living signs of Christ's presence, we will respond to the call to personal holiness given to all by committing ourselves to opportunities for ongoing conversion and spiritual renewal.
1. ective #1 To develop a prayer session that is family oriented. To include ideas for families to continue these activities at home. Example: making an advent wreath at home. This is to be implemented during Lent and Advent seasons. Objective #2 To arrange a Parish Mission by the fall of 2005 or Lent of 2006 Objective#3 To offer reflection books called "Living Faith" to the parishioners as a guide for personal daily reflections. Objective #4 To organize a prayer group where parishioners can meet and discuss their thoughts and feelings on such topics as their daily reflections.
2. Called by Christ, we will evangelize through the clear proclamation of the Gospel and the constant teaching of the Catholic faith, assuring that such proclamation and teaching is linked to the life experience of the people.
1. jective #1: To plan and offer a Bible study Objective#2: To incorporate a Church/School liaison with the Catholic Schools in our district. Objective #3: To arrange a get together between other parish council members in our zone in order to exchange ideas. Objective #4: To train volunteers in assisting with sacramental preparation through workshops
3. With our sights set on the mission of Jesus, we will minister with justice and compassion to the wounded, the searching, the entrapped, and those in material and spiritual need.
1. jective #1: To offer a booklet that clearly outlines all of our Parish programs and their descriptions. This booklet will be designed to encourage parishes to become more involved in our Christian community. Objective #2: To research and coordinators alternative ways of collecting for charisties in our community such as collecting pop tabs for wheel chairs, local food drive, Christmas giving tree, clothing drive.... Objective #3: To make and deliver gifts for shut-ins as an outreach to our community. These gifts will be delivered by Squires and other younger members of our Parish family. Objective #4: To identify shut-ins by neighbourhood contacts and to minister to them by visiting and bringing them communio
4. As the Body of Christ, formed by word and sacrament, we will make provision for meaningful liturgical celebrations in our parish communities to ensure full, conscious, and active participation by all.
1. jective #1: To offer opportunities for new and /or visiting families to bring up the gifts of bread and wine at mass. Objective #2: To include the children in the mass by having Father give thenm a blessing before they begin their children's liturgy. Also, to have them return to the congregation before the end of the mass. Objective #3: To develop training sessions for volunteers serving at Sunday Eucharist, ex. Readers, altar servers communion ministers... Objective #4: To incorporate a welcoming committee to provide information to new and visiting parishioners via written packages including mass times and program booklets Cf. Goal 3 objects 1. 5. Inviting all to co-responsible ministry, we will encourage and support the ongoing formation of laity, religious, and ordained.
1. Objective #1: To involve Parish employees in workshops and retreats to encourage and retreats to encourage and support ongoing formation in ministry. Objective #2: To consider 4 minute teachings at the end of mass.
6. Imitating Christ the servant-leader, we will employ and model governance practices at all levels that seek to: meet the needs of Godís people, support the Churchís mission, ensure appropriate participation in decision-making by the laity, religious and ordained, uphold Gospel stewardship, and promote accountability and transparency.
